IRC873 is a web-based, persistent IRC client with an integrated bouncer built on open-source software called The Lounge. It is a powerful, multi-server chat client that you can access from any device, any where, any time.
IRC873 is currently in beta release and being offered to select Clients. To request access as a beta tester, please create a request here.
Once your account is created, use the credentials you are sent in response to login to the client.
Once you are signed in, you should first change your default password to something much more secure. Do this by clicking the cogwheel in the bottom left corner, and scrolling about halfway day the menu.
After changing your password, we need to add an IRC server to connect to. Click the + in the bottom left corner. Then add the appropriate information.
Click connect and you’re connected to freenode! It’s just that easy. If you need to add additional IRC servers, click the + sign again and repeat for each server you wish to add.
Your connection to these servers is persistent and the client will remain connected if you close your browser. This allows you to pick up right where you left off the next time you log in.
To configure advanced features such as custom alert words or server commands upon connection, click the cogwheel in the bottom left corner, then check the ‘Advanced Settings’ box at the very top.
